How to Prepare for Blepharoplasty: Before Your Eyelid Surgery

Getting ready for blepharoplasty? A smooth recovery starts with smart preparation. At Restore Surgical Center in Kelowna, we make sure you’re fully informed before your procedure.

Here’s what to do before eyelid surgery to ensure the best possible outcome.

1. Follow Medication Instructions

Your surgeon may ask you to stop blood thinners, certain supplements, or anti-inflammatory medications 1–2 weeks before surgery to minimize bruising.

2. Stock Your Recovery Area

Gather cold compresses, prescribed eye drops, soft pillows, sunglasses, and any approved ointments.

3. Plan for a Ride Home

Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure, but you’ll need someone to drive you home afterward and stay with you for the first 24 hours.

4. Skip the Makeup & Creams

Arrive with a clean face—no makeup, moisturizer, or eye products on the day of surgery.

5. Dress Comfortably

Wear loose, button-up clothing to avoid pulling anything over your face after surgery.

6. Ask Questions

Don’t hesitate to clarify anything with your surgical team. We want you to feel calm and confident.

A little preparation goes a long way in making your blepharoplasty experience easy, comfortable, and successful.
